Help wanted sign

MID-HUDSON – There are still plenty of ‘help wanted’ signs up around the region and it may become even more difficult for employers to find workers as the number of unemployed people continues to drop.

October unemployment rates in Hudson Valley/Catskills counties continue to fall below the levels of the previous year.

Columbia County, with 1.9 percent unemployment, has the lowest rate in the region and in the state. All other counties in the region are in the two-percent range while statewide in October, the rate of joblessness was 3.4 percent and that compared with 4.3 percent in October 2021.
