FISHKILL – The Town of Fishkill will hold a Veterans Stand Down Event on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Fishkill Recreation Center.

The event, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., is organized in partnership with the Town of Fishkill Veterans Committee and Mental Health America of Dutchess County Veterans Programs.

“Stand Down” is a military phrase meaning to relax, or go off-duty, and the words are borrowed among the veteran community for events which provide resources and assistance to veterans.

In the spirit of the Stand Down principle, services at Fishkill’s Stand Down event will include VA disability assistance, housing assistance, food and clothing, mental health services, communities resources, education and employment assistance and more, in support of those who have served our nation in uniform.

This event is open for all veterans at no cost. Those seeking additional information can contact the Fishkill Veterans Committee at veterans@fishkill-ny.gov or the Vet-Tap program at (845) 473-2500 ext. 1346 or jhoresky@mhadutchess.org
