WHITE PLAINS – A federal jury has returned a guilty verdict against a 31-year-old Yonkers man in the 2011 shooting death of another man in White Plains.

According to the indictment and evidence at trial, Darnell Kidd, also known as “Black,” “Donney,” and “Donney Black,” murdered Jonathan Johnson by shooting him during an armed robbery for marijuana.

Kidd faces from five years to life in prison when sentenced.

Kidd’s co-defendant, Marcus Chambers, had arranged by phone to purchase the marijuana from Johnson.

Chambers and Kidd met with him to rob him of the drug and during the robbery, Kidd shot and killed Johnson.

Chambers previously pled guilty for his role in the murder and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
