HYDE PARK – Police are investigating the death of a 34-year-old woman who was discovered by her husband, 54-year-old David Minihane, early Sunday morning.  Minihane was investigated after his previous wife, 38-year-old Jennifer Minihane, was found dead in a Hyde Park hotel in 2018, where he was present.

On Sunday, November 6, 2022, Hyde Park Police, assisted by other police agencies, responded to the Minihane residence on South Drive in the village at 2:26  a.m. for a report of an unconscious, unresponsive woman, possibly suffering from an overdose.

The investigation, according to officials, has been turned over to the New York State Police.  Sources say that the previous incident and related circumstances will need resources to which the state police have access.

On Sunday evening, state police forensics teams and investigators were actively investigating the alleged crime scene.

In November of 2018, Minihane was present when his wife overdosed in a hotel room that the two had rented.  That wife, Jennifer, at the time of her alleged death, had a restraining order against Minihane, requiring him to avoid contact with her.  That Mid-Hudson News recount can be found here.

Minihane, who was supposedly an EMT at the time, was arrested for criminal contempt for violating the restraining order that had been in effect.

Sources say that Minihane has not been charged with any criminal activity for the latest death.
