NEW PALTZ – Lagusta’s Luscious will be expanding its artisanal chocolate manufacturing facility in New Paltz by spending $501,450 to renovate and build out a 6,000 square foot space.

The state’s Empire State Development Corporation will kick in $100,000 in exchange for the creation of 11 new jobs and the retention of 12 existing ones.

The expansion will include 4,500 square feet for production and 1,500 square feet for back-office space and shipping.

“This exciting expansion of one of Ulster County’s most dynamic and successful craft food makers is a testament to Lagusta Yearwood and her team’s dedication to the values that shaped their business: fairness, sustainability and delicious vegan chocolate,” said Acting County Executive Johanna Contreras.

“Lagusta’s is an important and beloved part of our community and I am thrilled that they have chosen to expand their facility here in New Patz not just because it means there are more jobs but because it means more people will be able to try some of the best chocolate in the country,” said Town Supervisor Neil Bettez.
