POUGHKEEPSIE – The Foodstock Fund which organizes the annual multi-artist Foodstock concert at the historic Chance Theater, is holding its 15th gathering on December 10, 2022.  The Foodstock show raises money for The Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie as well as serves as a fundraiser and food collection site for Dutchess Outreach.

On Friday, Foodstock Fund founders Lorenzo Angelino and Ryan Michael announced the lineup for the show which typically draws several hundred people, all of which are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items being collected for Dutchess Outreach.

Dutchess Outreach offers a variety of programs and services to those in need, especially those in need of food.  Their food pantry, according to Assistant Executive Director Tara Whalen, provides free groceries for an entire household. Last year alone more than 87,000 meals were provided to 9,342 people in Dutchess County, including more than 3,000 children.

In announcing the lineup for the show known for inexpensive tickets, promoter Ryan Michael encouraged people to attend because people need help more than before.  “The pandemic placed an enormous burden on the community and Dutchess Outreach saw a substantial increase in the number of people seeking food assistance.  Dutchess Outreach answered the call but, due to the struggling economy, they are still seeing more and more people in need of assistance.”  His partner, Lorenzo Angelino added, “Tickets for this incredible show are a mere $30 and proceeds from the sales will help a tremendous number of people in our community.”

Angelino, explaining the origins of the Foodstock Fund, said “We started as a small benefit to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.  It has grown exponentially since 2005 (COVID put the event on hold) and this year’s lineup features incredible artists that are doing their part to help the cause.”

December’s Foodstock XV features artists including:

  • Sirsy
  • Albino Love Slaves
  • Adam Ezra Group
  • Snaphammer
  • Jesse Malin
  • Saniel & Shajai’s Fusion Avengers (with David Laffin)

The Chance Theater doors will open at 5:00 p.m. on the day of the show.  Non-perishable food items will be collected for Dutchess Outreach.

The $30 tickets can be purchased at the Chance Theater Box Office, Ticketweb, or by contacting Ryan Michael or Lorenzo Angelino on Facebook.
