TOWN OF WALLKILL – Land is being cleared for a large distribution center off East Main Street in the Town of Wallkill. The structure, behind a QuickChek convenience store and next to a Holiday Inn Express in a location called Med Parc, is being constructed by RDM Development.
One of the company’s principals, Isaac Newman, told Mid-Hudson News that they have no tenants at this point and are building it on speculation.
The Wallkill Town Board is considering enacting a six-month moratorium on new distribution centers given the recent interest in those facilities. If it is put in place, Newman does not believe it will negatively impact the demand.
Construction crews have already cut a road through the RDM project, which received all town approvals.
