POUGHKEEPSIE – Hopewell Junction resident Donald Lemish, arrested after allegedly choking a prostitute and holding police at bay in February of this year, pled guilty to one felony count of menacing a police or peace officer on Tuesday in Dutchess County Court.

Lemish was employed as a training officer for Metro-North Railroad when the incident occurred and was terminated from his job in March.

In February, Lemish was arraigned in East Fishkill Justice Court after his arrest and pled not guilty to felony charges of menacing a police officer and strangulation (prostitute) and the misdemeanors of menacing, attempted assault, and unlawful imprisonment.  Lemish was given a $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond option.

Lemish entered a guilty plea to the felony before Dutchess County Court Judge Jessica Segal who remanded him to the Dutchess County Jail to await his sentencing on November 15th.  Lemish entered the guilty plea with the understanding that he faces a maximum sentence of one to three years in prison.
