BREAKING: Accused “Courtyard Killer” and accomplice to be arraigned this week

POUGHKEEPSIE – Dutchess County District Attorney Bill Grady announced on Tuesday that the two suspects in the murder of a man at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel in the Town of Poughkeepsie on October 2, 2022, will be arraigned this week.

Roy Johnson Jr., the suspect accused of killing Paul Kutz, a guest at the hotel, was indicted by a Dutchess County Grand Jury on October 7, 2022.  Johnson, 35, was indicted on a felony murder charge and two felony charges of criminal possession of a weapon.

Twenty-six-year-old Devin Taylor was indicted by the same grand jury last Friday.  He is charged with three felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon for his role in the crime.

The two men are scheduled to be arraigned on the charges on Friday, October 14, 2022, before Dutchess County Court Judge Edward McLoughlin.  Both defendants are currently in the Dutchess County Jail.
