SHAWANGUNK – A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Ulster County on a charge of having sex with a 14-year-old girl in July 2020.
Ulster Sheriff’s deputies arrested Marco Rivera, 22, of Washingtonville on a rape charge.
This past June detectives received information from Walden Village Police about an incident involving a 20-year-old man who had reportedly engaged in sex with the child.
Through investigation it was determined that River met the girl on the social media platform Snapchat and later me with her on more than one occasion to engage in sex.
Rivera was arrested on September 21 of this year and charged with felony rape and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.
He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.
Detectives were assisted in the investigation by Village of Walden Police.
