NEWBURGH – At least one security camera at NFA was not working at the time of the September 30 shooting that injured three after a football game. The original coverage of the incident can be read here.

A source has told Mid-Hudson News that the camera located on the rear and south sides of the high school was not in operation at the time the shooting erupted. It is part of an old system and not  connected to the current one resulting in no footage recorded at the time that gunfire rang out.

City of Newburgh police are seeking to identify the two “persons of interest” above related to the NFA shooting.

The shooting occurred at approximately 9:35 p.m. just as 2,000 spectators were leaving the football game between the Goldbacks and Warwick High School.

A classroom window sustained bullet damage. A car belonging to a teacher working at the game sustained multiple bullet strikes.  The car was not released to the teacher until 2 a.m. on Saturday after crime scene technicians recovered ballistic evidence from the vehicle.

The City of Newburgh Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two subjects of interest.  Anyone with information regarding the identities of the subjects or has any information regarding the shooting is asked to call the city’s detective division at 845-569-7509.  Callers may remain anonymous.

The Newburgh Enlarged City School District did not respond to a request regarding the status of the security cameras.
