TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – President Joe Biden will be in the Town of Poughkeepsie on Thursday, October 6, to tour the IBM Poughkeepsie facility and deliver remarks on “creating jobs in the Hudson Valley, lowering costs, and ensuring the future of made in America,” the White House announced Tuesday.

Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney toured the IBM facility in February, as reported by Mid-Hudson News.

The Dutchess County visit by President Biden is expected to create temporary road closures in the Town of Poughkeepsie and possibly the Town of Wappinger.  In the area of the IBM Poughkeepsie facility, police have advised that road closures are likely between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.  Officials have suggested that motorists seek alternate routes to avoid delays.

After the IBM visit, the President will travel to Red Bank, NJ for a reception benefitting the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and is also expected to attend a reception hosted by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee being held in NYC.
