CATSKILL – A Saugerties motorcyclist was killed in collision with a car at 4 p.m. on September 30, State Police said Monday.
The accident occurred on Route 32 near the intersection of Game Farm Road in the Town of Catskill.
Police said the preliminary investigation found that a 2015 Mercedes GLA250 SUV, driven by Vilma Lawson, 58, of Norwalk, Connecticut, was traveling northbound on Route 32.
She turned left to enter Game Farm Road and directly in front of a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Daniel Valk, 26, of the Town of Saugerties, that was traveling southbound on Route 32.
The bike struck the front passenger side of the SUV causing Valk to be ejected.
Three passing motorists attempted to save Valk, who was pronounced dead on the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
