WHITE PLAINS – A Bronx man was sentenced on Thursday, September 29 to 20 years in state prison for killing his wife during a dispute in her home in Mount Vernon.

On the night of April 8, 2021, Kirk Fisher, 60, repeatedly stabbed 47-year-old Kaya Greene, who suffered several stab wounds to various parts of her body and blunt force trauma to her head, which caused her death.

Three days later, the victim’s family found her dead on her living room floor and called the police.

Mount Vernon Police arrested Fisher in Manhattan on May 18, 2021, following an investigation with the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety and the District Attorney’s Office.

He pled guilty to manslaughter and in addition to the prison sentence, Fisher will also be subject to five years of post-release supervision.

“This is a devastating case of domestic violence and we hope the family of Kaya Green has some sense of closure,” said DA Miriam Rocah. “Domestic Violence cuts across boundaries of age, gender, race and economic status, and the dedicated prosecutors in my office will fight for all victims in the courtrooms of Westchester County to hold their abusers accountable.”
