CLERMONT – A 14-year-old was struck and killed as the youth walked along Route 9 near Columbia County Route 8 in the Town of Clermont.
Initial investigation found that at about 4:50 a.m. on Friday, September 23, a northbound Ford F550 truck struck the child who was walking in the roadway.
State Police did not say if the victim was a boy or girl.
The child was pronounced dead on the scene by responding Northern Dutchess Paramedics.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the crash or the events that led up to it is asked to call the State Police at 845-677-7300.
