Dear Editor:

I am supporting Julie Shiroishi to become my NYS Senator in the 39th District. Julie is experienced, passionate, hard-working, smart, and savvy when it comes to politics. Julie is authentically a “people person.”

When the 39th Senate District came about due to redistricting, Julie encouraged James Skoufis to run. James had other ideas. Then 19 children were murdered in Uvalde, Texas. Within a day, Julie told me that she could not “not run.” I’ve known Julie for six years and have seen her in action. She was so horrified by the shooting in Uvalde, she was motivated to run for office. I support common sense gun legislation and know Julie will fight for that when elected. And just like it took courage for Pat Ryan to run in the Special Election, Julie mustered courage to take on another “good ole boy” on November 8. Just like that!

Julie has been chief of staff to Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson for several years. She already knows the inner workings of Albany. Having attended many political events with Julie, it’s always been obvious to me that she feels confident and comfortable in that setting.

And now the main reason I’m behind Julie. Because she’s the real deal. Sure, Julie cares about her kids and her husband and her town. But she cares about yours, too. She’s a Dem who wants everyone to have a better life – and that means EVERYONE!

Gratefully,
