Recently retired Sloatsburg village clerk passes away

SLOATSBURG – The Sloatsburg village clerk/treasurer for the last 55 years died Sunday at age 78.

Thomas Bollatto, Jr. retired recently after serving from 1967 to 2022.

A statement from village officials said he “was not only the village clerk, he was Sloatsburg.” Bollatto and his “trusted group of volunteers, invented, planned, and orchestrated all the community events and programs that we all have come to love and expect of Sloatsburg.”

He is survived by his wife Pam, son Matthew and daughter Meredith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home in Suffern.

A mass of Christian burial will occur on Friday, September 23 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Joan of arc Church in Sloatsburg.

Burial will follow the funeral mass at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Tuxedo Park.
