HYDE PARK – The Town of Hyde Park Police are asking for the public’s help in locating 31-year-old Christopher Imperatore who was last seen leaving his 40 Haviland Road residence at 3 a.m. on August 27, 2022.

Hyde Park Police Chief Robert Benson said his department received a report of the missing man on August 31 at 7:20 a.m.  The officers were told that Imperatore left his home carrying two laundry bags with unknown contents, and has not returned.

Imperatore has been diagnosed with Autism and has limited verbal skills.

He was last seen wearing a bright orange sweatshirt over a black flannel shirt, black pants, and black sneakers, and wearing glasses, carrying the two laundry bags.

As of September 6, Imperatore has not returned home.

According to Chief Benson,  the man has a history of leaving his home and going into the woods for several days before returning. When he left on August 27th, it was believed he was going to go into the woods as he has in the past.   When the man did not return by August 31, a concerned party notified the police.

If anyone has any information about the possible whereabouts of Imperatore, please contact the Hyde Park Police Department at 845-229-9340 or Hydeparkpolicetips@hydeparkny.us.

If you are a resident of the Haviland Road/Route 9G/Roosevelt Road area, the police are asking you to check your surveillance and/or doorbell cameras to see if you may have any video of Imperatore in your neighborhood.

The Hyde Park Police Department is being assisted by members of the New York State Police, Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Roosevelt Fire Department, National Park Service, and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Rangers in attempting to locate Imperatore.
