Hudson man arrested on DWAI charge

TOWN OF ULSTER – A 35-year-old Hudson man was arrested by Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance – fentanyl.

At about 8 p.m. on September 2, deputies responded to the area of the Thruway exit in Kingston to check the welfare of a man walking around outside his vehicle.

At the same time, Ulster 911 received several calls about a vehicle being operated erratically on the Thruway before getting off the highway in Kingston.

The subsequent investigation alleged that Billy Joe Dart was driving while impaired by drugs and was in possession of fentanyl.

He was released on an appearance ticket to Town of Ulster Court and turned over to the State Police on outstanding charges stemming from an unrelated case.
