PEEKSKILL – Three people have been arrested following the execution of
search warrants at two separate residences in Peekskill and Lake Peekskill in connection with a joint investigation by three agencies.
As a result of the searches, police seized two illegally possessed loaded firearms – one, a revolver reported stolen out of Dutchess County – over 400 grams of cocai9ne, 187 glassine envelopes of heroin, approximately eight pounds of marijuana and over $28,000 in cash.
Arrested as a result were Masi Smith, 29, Katherine Chacon, 37, and 25-year-old Shadieq Desland, all from Peekskill.
Peekskill Police charged Smith and Chacon with two counts each of drug possession and criminal use of drug paraphernalia.
Smith and Desland were also charged with drug and weapons possession by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
Smith and Chacon were arraigned in Peekskill City Court following their arrests on Wednesday, August 17. Smith was remanded to the Westchester County Jail while Chacon was released on her own recognizance.
