NEW CITY – The man convicted of killing his former girlfriend and her mother in their Valley Cottage home on May 26, 2020 was sentenced in Rockland County Court on Tuesday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Robert Williams III, 34, of Hillcrest, who had a previous relationship with Kathleen Castor, 27, entered their home at 104 Lake Road while there was an order of protection prohibiting any contact with the woman, and shot and killed her and her 63-year-old mother, Wanda Castor with a .40 caliber firearm.

Kathleen’s one-month old baby, Anastasia, was left in the apartment alive and unharmed.

District Attorney Thomas Walsh II said Anastasia “lost both her mother and grandmother due to the barbaric actions” of Williams.

“We hope that with Williams’ sentencing, the Clarkstown community and the Castor family can begin the healing process,” said Walsh.

Williams was found guilty of three counts of murder, criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal contempt.
