HYDE PARK – The electric vehicle (EV) charging station at the Hyde Park Town Hall will cease to provide free charging to EV operators on August 31.  The town was required to provide free charging to EV users for two years after installation, which occurred in 2020.

The charging station was paid for with a State Government Zero-Emission Vehicle/Clean Vehicle Infrastructure grant.

Users of the charging station will pay $0.255 per kilowatt hour (KWH) to charge electric vehicles.  The payment rate includes the cost of electricity and profit for Charge Point, the operator of the station.

Users of the Hyde Park charging station will be required to establish an account with Charge Point.
