Police investigate third shooting in Poughkeepsie

POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie Police announced that a victim suffering from a gunshot wound walked into police headquarters early Tuesday morning to report the incident.  Police are trying to determine if the victim’s shooting is related to the murder that occurred on Mansion Street at approximately 1:44 a.m.

Officers and detectives were at the scene of the murder in which a man was fatally shot somewhere in the vicinity of 283 Mansion Street when a short time later, a 44-year-old man walked into police headquarters to report being shot.

The second gunshot victim of the day was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say the second victim provided limited information to detectives regarding his shooting.
Detectives are actively investigating both incidents as well as a shooting on North White Street on Tuesday that injured a 29-year-old male.  That story can be found here.
