NEWBURGH – Fire in two buildings at 96 Overlook Place in the City of Newburgh Monday afternoon brought out a large mutual aid response from several area fire departments.
The three-alarm fire was called in around 3:15 p.m., and an hour-and-a-half later, additional fire departments were called in to assist.
The firefighters’ union commented in a post that if the first responding shift had not be reduced months ago, additional manpower would have prevented the fire from spreading in the building.
