TOWN OF WAPPINGER – Sydney Heidt, a 23-year-old Wappingers Falls resident, has been arrested after a July 22 fight at a Route 9 gas station. Heidt has been charged with the misdemeanors of menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
State Police responded to the Gulf gas station on Route 9 at 2 p.m. for a report of a fight in progress and one of the subjects had a knife. Troopers arrived, broke up the fight, and disarmed Heidt, who was allegedly wielding a knife, police said.
An investigation determined the altercation started over a person allegedly cutting the line at the gasoline pump. During the incident, Heidt allegedly brandished and menaced the victim with a knife.
Heidt was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the town of Wappinger Court on August 11, 2022.
