Coxsackie felon indicted for illegally possessing AR-15

ALBANY – A 50-year-old Coxsackie man was arraigned in Albany federal court on Thursday on a charge of illegally possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

According to the indictment, Shawn Ubrich, a convicted felon, possessed an AR-15 assault rifle in Greene County on October 5, 2021.

Ubrich was held in custody pending a detention hearing.

The charge against Ubrich carries up to 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, and up to three years of post-release supervision.

The case is being investigated by ATF and the State Police.
