Robbery at waterfront apartments sends victim to hospital

POUGHKEEPSIE – A robbery that resulted in a tenant being slashed with a knife at an apartment complex early Thursday morning is under investigation by City of Poughkeepsie police.

On July 21, 2022, at 3:21 a.m., city 911 received an emergency call from an elevator phone at the luxury waterfront apartments, known as One Dutchess, on Dutchess Avenue.  The caller indicated that a man was bleeding and needed assistance.

Responding officers secured the scene and located the man who had been slashed with a knife.

The victim told police that two subjects entered his apartment, slashed him multiple times, and stole property before fleeing the scene.

Crime scene technicians and detectives responded to investigate. The victim was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital via Mobile Life and is expected to recover.
