TOWN OF WALLKILL – A 43-year-old woman suffered a stab wound to the chest and a 40-year-old man has been charged with burglary, assault, and other crimes at a residence at 4 Avoncroft Lane in the Town of Wallkill.
The incident, investigated by Wallkill Town Police, occurred around 2 a.m. on Saturday, July 16.
The victim was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center in Wallkill while the investigation led to the arrest of Jonathan Harris. Both the victim and alleged assailant are Wallkill residents.
Harris was charged with burglary, assault, criminal contempt, criminal mischief, criminal possession of a weapon, and driving while intoxicated.
He was arraigned in Wallkill Town Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
