NEWBURGH – Two Newburgh men are under arrest in connection with three incidents of gunfire on in the early morning hours of July 5.

Deandre Peacock, 22, and Deon Paterson, 21, were each charged with criminal possession of a weapon, Newburgh City Police said.

At around 1 a.m. on July 5, police received a ShotSpotter notification from the North Miller block. Officers found 20 shell casings consisting of .40 caliber, .45 caliber, and 9mm. Police also found live .40 and .45 caliber rounds.

Officers also found another 22 9mm shell casings a few houses away from the initial scene.

While police were processing the second scene, ShotSpotter notified them of another shooting about two blocks away, where they found two shell casings and a vehicle that had been struck by gunfire.

Two loaded firearms, a .45 caliber semi-automatic gun and a .38 caliber revolver were recovered.

Peacock and Patterson were both arrested on July 15.
