Police arrest man who offered 16-year-old girl cash for sex

MONTICELLO – A 62-year-old Brooklyn man has been arrested by Monticello Village Police after he allegedly approached a 16-year-old girl who was sitting at a table at the softball field at Monticello High School and offered to pay her for sex.

Izchak Krishevsky was charged with a felony of patronizing a person for prostitution in a school zone and a misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child.

The victim immediately walked away from the suspect at around 7:30 Thursday evening, called family members by phone, who then alerted Monticello Police.

Responding officers located Krishevsky on Forestburgh Road where he was being detained by a family member of the victim.

Following his arrest, in accordance with state bail reform guidelines, he was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Monticello Village Justice Court.

An investigation is continuing and anyone who may possibly had been approached by Krishevsky in a similar manner is asked to call the police at 845-794-4422.
