HIGHLAND – A 56-year-old Highland man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a parked vehicle on Vineyard Avenue in Highland just after 12 a.m. on July 12, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office reported on Friday.

Deputies said the initial investigation revealed that the operator of the motorcycle, Sean Burke, was driving in an unsafe manner and lost control, striking the vehicle.

The motorcycle crashed into the hood and windshield of the parked car and Burke was ejected onto the sidewalk.

He was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie and later flown to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla where he died.

The investigation remains open and pending, deputies said.

They were assisted at the scene by Mobile Life Support Services.
