SAUGERTIES – Two sisters were arrested on July 4 on five counts of endangering the welfare of a child and attempted assault after the two women engaged in a physical domestic dispute in front of five kids.

Lani Smith, 32, and Mia Smith, 33, each told Saugerties Police the other was the primary attacker. They live next door to one another at 3 and 5 Dutchtown Road in the Town of Saugerties.

Lani allegedly kicked Mia in the right eye causing injury and then Mia punched Lani in her right eye. Both had visible eye injuries, police said.
