Fire damages mobile home

MILTON – Fire early Tuesday damaged a single-wide mobile home in the area of 1526 Route 9W in Milton.

Fire Chief Erick Masten said the two-alarm fire was contained to the living room area; however, the remainder of the home incurred smoke damage.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental and there were no injuries, Masten said.

The family of two adults and four children was displaced and the American Red Cross was assisting them in securing temporary housing.

The Marlboro House Company No. 1 was assisted by Marlborough Town Police, the Ulster County Department of Emergency Services, Ulster County Fire Investigation Unit, Milton Engine Company, Highland Hose Company, Middle Hope Fire Department, Mobile Life Support Services and Central Hudson.
