One killed in Gardiner two-crash crash

GARDINER – An evening car crash on July 4 claimed the life of one of the drivers, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The accident at around 8:15 p.m. occurred on Route 44/55 near the intersection with Route 299 west in Gardiner, authorities said.

One driver was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said.

The investigation is ongoing and the name of the victim will be released pending notification of relatives.
