Orange County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Academy graduates 10

MONTGOMERY – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Academy graduated K-9 Patrol School Class #30 on Friday. Ten K-9 handlers and their new K-9 partners from four counties successfully completed their long journey to get to this point as patrol certified.

“We choose Officers and K-9s that show good character, high drive, loyalty, discipline, honorable, and trainable and then give them the skills to do the job they have chosen to do,” said Assistant Undersheriff Anthony Weed.

Family, friends, and co-workers turned out to watch the graduation and what the K-9 teams have learned during their training.

The K-9 Patrol School Class #30 includes:

Deputy John VandenDooren & K-9 Steele – Orange County Sheriff’s Office

Deputy Brian Lasch & K-9 Rick – Orange County Sheriff’s Office

Deputy Kyle R. Hassett & K-9 Howie – Ulster County Sheriff’s Office

Corporal Jeffery D. Clark & K-9 Edge – Delaware County Sheriff’s Office

Officer Joseph A. Ingui & K-9 Thorn- Village of Suffern Police Department

Officer Michael P. McRory & K-9 Ryder – Town of Ramapo Police Department

Officer Ralph W. Leiter & K-9 Cruise – Town of Ulster Police Department

Officer Derek Kerstner & K-9 Fritz – Town of Warwick Police Department

Officer Ricardo Rivera & K-9 Raz – City of Newburgh Police Department

Officer Madison Lindeman & K-9 Bane – Town of Wallkill Police Department
