8 Hoffman Ave in Poughkeepsie was raided Wednesday morning.

POUGHKEEPSIE – An ongoing investigation into drug sales in Dutchess County resulted in a two-family home being raided just before dawn on Wednesday morning.  Several people were taken from the building and charges are pending.

Members of the New York State Police Violent Gang and Narcotics Team (VGNET) were joined by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force and the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department Neighborhood Recovery Unit (NRU) in executing a search warrant at 8 Hoffman Avenue in Poughkeepsie at approximately 4:30 a.m. on June 29.

Task Force Detective Sergeant Adam Harris said, “This investigation is the result of addressing complaints of drug activity in neighborhoods by agencies working together to keep Dutchess County residents safe.”

After the raid was completed, the City of Poughkeepsie DPW boarded the house up and the city’s building department put notices on the structure indicating that entry into the building was prohibited.  A neighbor told Mid-Hudson News that a few people had attempted to gain entry into the building on Wednesday afternoon but their efforts were thwarted by a City of Poughkeepsie patrol unit.

A video of a portion of the raid, with officers ordering a man hiding in the basement to exit the residence, is below:
