MONTGOMERY – Fire late Wednesday night destroyed the tractor hauling a trailer said to contain medical supplies.

The engine compartment went up in flames at around 11:15 p.m. while in a parking lot off Route 208.

Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department personnel extinguished flames while Coldenham firefighters were called to the scene in case the fire spread to the trailer.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze and were back in service shortly after midnight.

The investigation into the cause is being handled by Orange County fire investigators.
