GOSHEN – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc (CALEA) Law Enforcement Accreditation for the third time.

The designation confirms the sheriff’s office maintains the highest standards in the country and remains in the top one percent of New York State and the top two percent in the nation.

The four-year accreditation process included remote and in-person reviews and assessments.

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. was created in 1979 as a credentialing authority through the joint efforts of law enforcement’s major executive associations – The International Association of Chiefs of Police, National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, National Sheriffs’ Association, and Police Executive Research Forum.
