Three municipalities secure over $12 million in state clean water loans

ALBANY – The Town of Catskill, Town of Rockland and City of Middletown have been approved for a total of over $12 million in loans from the State Environmental Facilities Corporation to improve water quality.

The Town of Catskill will receive $10.2 million in long-term, interest-free financing to plan, design and construct a wastewater collection and conveyance system to serve the newly formed Leeds and Jefferson Heights Sewer District, and to install mechanical screening at the village-owned wastewater treatment plant.

A $3.15 million grant was previously authorized for the project.

The Town of Rockland will receive $265,000 in short-term, interest-free financing and a more than $41,000 grant for a chlorine disinfection system at the Roscoe wastewater treatment plant.

The City of Middletown has been approved for a more than $2.2 million long-term, interest-free loan and over $359,000 in a grant for pump replacement.
