Former Orange County Government official dies

GOSHEN – Christopher Dunleavy, a former business leader and government official died Tuesday night, a family member said.

Dunleavy served as president of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce when there were two chambers in the county – the Eastern Orange County Chamber being the other one.

Following the merger of the two business groups, Dunleavy went on to work for county government.

“Chris dedicated the majority of his professional career to the betterment of Orange County having served as Orange County Administrative Officer, Director of Operations, Deputy Health Commissioner and as President of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce,” said Steven Gross, county Economic Development Director.  “Chris was instrumental in establishing Orange County’s 911 system and technology upgrades. He will be missed for his dry wit and intellect.”
