STONY POINT – Police are investigating a deadly freak accident in Rockland County.
A tree fell on a vehicle traveling up the Palisades Parkway late Sunday afternoon slicing through the red pickup truck with three people inside.
The accident happened in the northbound lanes in Stony Point, just before Exit 16.

State Police on the scene say the male front seat passenger, was pronounced dead on the scene.
They add the driver was rushed by helicopter to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla.
A rear passenger was also taken to Westchester Medical Center by ambulance.
The winds were gusty for much of the afternoon in the area.
The northbound Palisades Parkway was shut down into the evening.
