NEW PALTZ – With two years remaining on her contract, New Paltz Central School District Superintendent Angela Urbina-Medina announced she would be stepping down from her post on June 30.

Her action was “pursuant to the terms of an employment-related agreement,” according to a statement on the district website.

The announcement came at last Wednesday’s school board meeting.

The website announcement said the board plans to appoint an interim superintendent “and discuss its process and timeline for conducting a search for a new superintendent.”

Urbina-Medina, whose contract with the New Paltz district was to run from July 1, 2020 through 2024, could not be reached for comment on Friday.
