POUGHKEEPSIE – Detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred near 386 Main Street in the city around 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.
One man was shot multiple times including at least once in the chest and was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital where he died from his injuries. The deceased is a 27-year-old city resident.
Two additional victims arrived at Vassar Brothers Medical Center Saturday morning seeking treatment.
The second victim, a 31-year-old city resident, sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was undergoing surgery on Saturday and is expected to live, according to City of Poughkeepsie Police Detective Lieutenant Matt Clark.
The third victim, a 40-year-old city resident, suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and the wound is considered non-life-threatening.
The deceased victim’s car was towed from the scene to the police impound yard.
Detective Lieutenant Clark said, “There were multiple witnesses at the scene, none of whom were inclined to give a statement as to what they had witnessed.”
