WHITE PLAINS – A 25-year-old New Castle man was sentenced in Westchester County Court on Wednesday to 10 years of probation and is required to register as a sex offender for sexually abusing a woman while she slept, District Attorney Miriam Rocah said.
The DA’s Office had recommended a state prison term for Anthony Urena, who was convicted of abusing the woman while she was sleeping in his home on July 21, 2019.
“You stole something from me I will never get back,” the victim said in an impact statement in court. “I felt violated. I felt scared. I felt betrayed. I felt embarrassed. No one should ever have the misfortune of blissfully thinking they can trust a friend who is not really a friend at all and would violate them given the opportunity. I hope this trial has aided in saving another girl from becoming a victim of sexual assault.”
