WALLKILL – The Orange County Partnership has named Montgomery Town Supervisor Brian Maher as its Most Valuable Partner awardee for this year.

“There is no one more deserving of the MVP award than Brian,” said County Executive Steven Neuhaus.

Following his election in 2019 – he was mayor of the Village of Walden before that – Maher embarked on development of a new comprehensive plan that addressed residents’ concerns over commercial growth, but also spelled out how and where new economic development could take place.

As a result, Medline expanded its county operations into a new 1.3-million-square-foot distribution center and Amazon built a one-million-square-foot distribution center in the town.

“If you are worried about where our next generation of leaders is coming from, stop worrying,” said Maureen Halahan, resident of the Partnership. “Brian simply gets things done and it has been an honor to watch him grow his skill.”
