MONTGOMERY – The source of a threat emailed to the Montgomery Elementary School last weekend has been identified and resolved, Montgomery Village Police Chief W.R. Herlihy said.

Despite that, he said the police department needs to continue its investigation into the matter as it affects the community “and we want to be vigilant in any threats that are presented, no matter how big or small they seem at the time.”
The chief said they take every threat against the community “with the utmost urgency and we will continue our investigation until all of our processes and procedures are complete.”

But, he said there is no additional threat to the Montgomery Elementary School.

If anyone has any further information about this or any incident, contact the Village of Montgomery Police Department at 845-457-3666.

Assisting in this investigation were the FBI, K-9 units from the State Police, Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Town of Woodbury, as well as the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

And the chief said, “As always, if you see something or hear something, say something!”
