KINGSTON – The average selling price of a single-family house in Ulster County rose by 7.7 percent in April compared to the same month last year; however, the number of homes that were sold dropped by 29.7 percent, according to the Ulster County Board of Realtors.
A total of 107 homes sold this past April compared with 152 in April 2021.
In April 2021, the average selling price was $459,164, compared with $494,829 this April.
Homes also sold quicker in April – 7.5 percent faster – than one year earlier.
There were also 22.6 percent fewer homes available, 140 this April, compared with 181 in the same month last year.
In the first four months of 2022, the number of sales fell by 25 percent with the average selling price increasing by more than 10 percent, the board reported.
Sales went from 641 in 2021 to 480 this year. The average selling price in the first four months of last year was $406,562, compared with $448,972 this year.
