NEWBURGH – The Newburgh City Architectural Review Committee has approved the design of the Newburgh Ministry’s proposed supportive housing project on Johnston Street off lower Broadway.

The 50-unit residential facility would compliment the housing development by RUPCO and Habitat for Humanity, said the ministry’s Executive Director, Collin Jarvis.

“We have to be our brothers’ keepers, right, and what we are trying to do is assisting in the economy recovery and the visual recovery of the City of Newburgh,” he said.

The construction costs have yet to be determined. Jarvis said they would hope to secure state tax credits and other funding for the project.
