MAMAKATING – A 55-year-old Sullivan County official is in the Orange County Jail after being arrested for unlawful sex acts with a child. State Police arrested the man on May 31, 2022.
Robert Hufcut, the Mamakating Highway Superintendent and Summitville Fire Department Chief has been charged with two felony counts of “course of sexual conduct against a child”.
Public records indicate that Hufcut became an inmate of the Orange County Jail on May 31st at 4:24 p.m.
In New York, the charge of course of sexual conduct against a child indicates that, over a period of time not less than three months in duration, Hufcut, being eighteen years or more, engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct which includes at least one act of sexual intercourse, oral sexual conduct, anal sexual conduct, or aggravated sexual contact, with a child less than 13-years-old. Hufcut is facing two charges of the crime.
