Three-time felon crack dealer arrested after police raid

POUGHKEEPSIE – A Thursday afternoon raid by police in Poughkeepsie resulted in the arrest of a career felon.  Police also seized drugs and cash during the execution of a search warrant.

Thirty-eight-year-old Poughkeepsie resident Anthony Griffin, a three-time convicted felon, was arrested on three felony charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance as a result of the 6:40 p.m. raid at 3 Balding Avenue, Apartment 2.

The City of Poughkeepsie Police Neighborhood Recovery Unit, in conjunction with the Hudson Valley Safe Streets Task Force and the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, obtained a search warrant for the apartment after an investigation into drug sales in the area.

The raid resulted in the seizure of more than 150 bags of crack cocaine which were prepackaged for distribution and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Griffin was arraigned and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.
